1. General information only

Everything on this website, including descriptions of scans, tests and procedures, is general information. It is not medical advice and does not replace a consultation with Dr. Mythili or your own doctor, who can take your individual situation into account.

2. Scan timings are a guide

The “Which scan, which week” calendar shows typical timings. Your obstetrician and Dr. Mythili will advise which scans and tests you need, and when.

3. What scans and tests can and cannot do

  • Ultrasound cannot detect every problem. What can be seen depends on how far along the pregnancy is, the baby’s position, the amount of fluid around the baby and the mother’s body build. A normal scan does not guarantee a baby free of all conditions.
  • Screening tests estimate risk; they do not diagnose. The NT scan with double marker, the quadruple marker and NIPT tell you whether the chance of certain conditions is low or high. A high-chance result is usually confirmed with a diagnostic test, such as CVS or amniocentesis, before any decision is made.
  • Invasive procedures carry risks, including a small risk of miscarriage. Dr. Mythili explains the benefits, risks and alternatives before any procedure, and nothing is done without your written consent.
  • 3D/4D imaging is done as part of a medical examination. The sex of the baby is not determined or disclosed in any scan.

4. No consultation through the website

Using this website, filling in the appointment form or messaging us does not make you a patient of the centre. That starts with your consultation. We cannot give medical advice through the website or messages.

5. No guaranteed outcomes

Medicine involves uncertainty. Nothing on this website is a promise of a particular result from any scan, test or procedure.
